ABOUT GRO-CORD OUTSOLES
Gro-Cord outsoles were first developed by Lima Cord Sole and Heel Company in the 1920s for Red Wing Shoes. The outsoles were originally made from a mixture of tire cord. As the first non-leather outsole, they quickly became popular for their durability, comfort and traction. Today's Gro-Cord is made in partnership with Vibram® and continues the legacy of quality and craft set by our founder, Charles Beckman.
ABOUT EXCALIBUR LEATHER
Excalibur leather is a polishable semi-aniline leather made with Wet Stuff Retain, finished to a medium to bright luster. This leather is smooth to the touch with a slight waxy feeling. After the break-in period, a beautiful casting of undertones shines and can be polished to restore color and luster.
