Introducing the newest fabric to the denim collection, the 16 Ounce Indigo Brown. Woven for Freenote by Yoshiwa Mills in Japan, it features our signature antique gold selvedge ticking. Weighing in at 16 ounces, the fabric is on the heavier end of the mid-weight range allowing for more defined creasing without too difficult a break-in. Initially this denim has a very dark indigo appearance with just a hint of golden-brown weft peeking through. The surface has a hairy texture, an attribute that aids in the fading process and results in a softer hand feel. Over time the indigo warp will chip away to reveal more of the brown tones underneath. Extremely high wear areas will fade to white with brown along the edges creating a unique and varied patina profile. This fabric makes a great alternative to traditional indigo denim and is a perfect wardrobe addition for the denim enthusiast looking for a unique fading project. This denim is offered in the Avila, Portola, Rios, and Wilkes fits. Proudly cut and sewn in Los Angeles, CA.
