- Iconic Red Wing last that was created in the 1950s
- Designed for increased flexibility and lighter work
- Made in USA
Red Wing is famous for massive work boots built for logging camps and frozen job sites. And then at some point they were like:
“What if… we made something for inside?”
That’s where this silhouette comes from.
The Work Chukka was inspired by Red Wing boots made for indoor factory work, smoother but hard concrete floors, more bending, more kneeling, less mud. It’s basically the industry cousin of the beloved Postman. Same idea. Slightly more relaxed energy. Classic Red Wing Construction.
The 3137 is this formula executed in Copper Rough & Tough, which is honestly one of Red Wing’s most iconic modern leathers.
Copper Rough & Tough comes out of SB Foot Tannery, Red Wing’s own tannery. That means they control the hide, the oiling process, the finish, everything. This leather is oil-infused, pull-up heavy, and designed to show character fast.
You flex it? Lighter tones bloom out.
You scuff it? Rub it with your thumb and it shifts again.
You actually wear it? It develops this insane high-low depth that looks like you’ve owned it for ten years in about ten months.
And unlike a stiff full-grain smooth leather, Copper R&T has that “broken-in but still structured” thing going on right out of the box. It creases beautifully. It doesn’t fight you.
Goodyear welt construction, fully resoleable, not disposable
Puritan triple-stitching, the overbuilt Red Wing signature
Nickel eyelets for that subtle industrial edge
And then the part people forget:
The Atlas Tred polyurethane outsole.
This isn’t a chunky wedge. It’s lighter. More flexible. Built for movement. If you’re bending, kneeling, walking all day, this thing actually moves with you. It’s shock-absorbing. It’s comfortable.
It doesn’t feel like you strapped on cinder blocks.
The Work Chukka is low-profile Red Wing engineering at its finest.
