One of the first vertically integrated European operations, Paraboot derived its name from the revolutionary rubber soles that were popularized in the USA in the early 20th century. Thanks to a guy called Goodyear and a process of vulcanization, the rubber rush was on, and leather outsoles were on the wayside. It was all about the rubber, which Paraboot sourced from the port of Para (See what they did there?).

This model got popular with veterinarian staff and nurses during the mid 20th century, a niche industry shoe that provided lasting comfort for days spent on hard floors, years of usability, and all the while in less-than-clean working conditions. So if it was the footwear of choice of those saving your life and your favorite four-legged friend, then there must be something going on in the construction and SOLE (soul, ha!) of these shoes.

Flash forward a century, and Paraboot today has become a heritage choice for those who love a good story and more so, appreciate time-honored tradition in construction, materials, and aesthetic. Built on a true Norwegian Welt, these bad boys are waterproof! (Up to the welt) and can be resoled for a lifetime of use.
