Second Records
Released in 1962, Bob Dylan''s self-titled debut introduced a 20-year-old troubadour with a gravelly voice and a gift for reimagining folk tradition. The album is largely composed of traditional songs, yet includes two originals, notably the poignant "Song to Woody," honoring his mentor Woody Guthrie. Dylan''s urgent, authentic delivery breathes new life into classics like "Man of Constant Sorrow" and "In My Time of Dyin''." Though not yet the fully formed poet-prophet he would become, the record reveals the raw seeds of his singular artistry.
