A Century of American Heritage
The story of the Harding pattern began over a hundred years ago when President Warren G. Harding and First Lady Florence Harding visited Oregon to dedicate a portion of the old Oregon Trail. At the ceremony, local Cayuse and Umatilla chiefs presented Mrs. Harding with a shawl featuring this unique design, which was inspired by the famous Chief Joseph blanket. Since its debut, the Harding has remained a cornerstone of the Pendleton collection. Depending on the size, the blanket features different finishes: the Twin size is napped and felt-bound for extra loft, while the larger sizes are unnapped with a sleek Ultrasuede® trim, showcasing the intricate jacquard weave with sharp precision.
