Discovered by legendary band-leader Johnny Otis in 1949, little Esther Mae Jones found fame with that great band on a slew of chart hits in the early part of the decade for the Savoy label. All growed up now, Little Esther has decided to go it alone and has been pacted in recent years to Decca Records and has also returned to the hit-making Savoy company for a series of releases displaying her mature style backed by the cream of the Big Apple sessioneers.
