The term selvedge denim (or selvage) refers to the "self-edge" of the fabric. It is the clean, tightly sealed border created when denim is woven on traditional shuttle looms—a slower process that prioritizes character and durability over mass production. Japanese mills like Kaihara and Kurabo are the undisputed leaders in selvedge production today. By using vintage techniques, they create unique variations in the fabric's surface, such as slub and neps, making every pair of jeans a unique piece of wearable art.

RAW DENIM – Denim in its Purest Form

Raw denim (or dry denim) is the term for fabric that remains unwashed and untreated after leaving the loom. This is denim in its most authentic state. SANFORIZATION & FIT

Most of our jeans, such as those from Edwin or Tellason, are sanforized to make it easy to find the right size (shrinking only about 2-3%). For those seeking a truly personalized fit, we also offer unsanforized denim (Shrink-to-fit). These jeans mold to your body in a way that pre-shrunk denim simply cannot, resulting in a perfect, tailored feel after the initial soak.
