The Red Wing 2949 is a rugged all-purpose heritage style work boot done in a 6'' shaft with moccasin stitching and a Goodyear Leather Welt construction and Puritan triple-stitch, making for long-lasting wear and easy repair. The luggy and gripy outer-sole is a Vibram TC4+, with massive lugs it offers superior traction, without being overaly hard on the feet thanks to its slight give under the feet. Built on the iconic No.23 last, this boot has a bit more room in the forefront, and can easily accommodate most feet types.
The historical name, ''Roughneck'' comes from the oil fields. Those going deep into the earth in search of black gold had arguably on of the toughest jobs ion the 20th century and rightly earned their moniker: Roughnecks. This boot pays rightful tribute to that name and continues to live up to the rough and tough standards of this tough industry, but adapted for modernity.
