Red Wing Shoe Care & Accessories

Taking care of your Red Wing Shoes not only extends their lifespan, but also deepens your appreciation for their craftsmanship. With over 80 steps in the making, these Red Wing Boots are built to last for decades by treating them with the right care products to maintain their value.

Along with proper shoe care, Red Wing offers a selection of accessories to complement your boots and enhance their comfort. The 48-inch Taslan laces in gold/tan or black/brown are commonly found on the Red Wing Moc Toe and Iron Ranger boots, while the 48-inch waxed laces in brown and black are featured on the Blacksmith model. To further improve your boot’s fit, Red Wing footbeds offer added comfort and support. Don't forget to complete your look with Red Wing’s range of accessories, including socks, beanies, gloves, and belts, all designed with the same attention to detail as the boots themselves.

By following these simple steps, your shoes will last for decades: clean, condition and protect.

Start by brushing your shoes with the horse hair brush to get rid of excess dirt and buildup on the leather. Once the boots have been brushed it is time to thoroughly clean them. Use the Red Wing Foam Leather Cleaner with a sponge or Dauber brush, applying it in circular motions to ensure deep and even coverage.Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe off with a clean towel. If any dirt remains, repeat the process.

The next step is conditioning your leather boots. Apply either Mink Oil or the All Natural Leather Conditioner if you're okay with slightly darkening the leather. These products penetrate deeply, providing excellent protection while restoring the leather's natural oils. If you'd prefer to maintain the original color of your boots, we recommend using Red Wing Leather Cream. It offers a gentler conditioning, preserving the leather's hue without darkening it as much, though it doesn't penetrate as deeply. After the conditioner has been applied, set the boots aside to dry for an hour.

The final step in restoring your leather boots is to protect them. Use Red Wing Leather Protector Spray to shield your boots from water, salt, and other elements, preventing them from damaging the leather. Suitable for all Oil-Tanned, Smooth-Finished, and Roughout leathers, this product helps extend the lifespan of your boots, keeping them looking great for years to come.
