What makes Roslyn truly authentic is that it wasn’t just inspired by photos or archive sketches. Indigofera used an original vintage Levi’s 701 from the 1950s as the blueprint. The goal was simple: stay true to what made that fit iconic, while refining it for comfort, durability, and everyday wear. The result is a jean that absolutely nails the balance between vintage accuracy and modern usability.
The fit is the star of the show here. Roslyn features a true high waist that sits at the natural waistline, just like the originals. It’s cut narrow at the waist, then shaped with a natural curve through the hips and seat; giving you room where you need it, without that frustrating gap at the back. From there, the leg falls straight to wide, creating a silhouette that’s flattering, comfortable, and unmistakably rooted in mid-century denim design.
Now let’s talk fabric, because this is where things get really good.
Roslyn is made from Indigofera’s Vintage 70’s Denim, a 14 oz Japanese selvedge denim woven in Japan and inspired by the rugged denims of the late 1960s and early 1970s. Unlike many modern fabrics, this denim is not singed, meaning the excess surface fibres are left intact. That gives the fabric a beautifully irregular texture, tons of character, and a deep, authentic vintage feel right from day one. It’s rinsed for comfort and stability, so you don’t have to worry about shrinkage.
Construction is handled in Portugal, with the attention to detail you’d expect from Indigofera—clean stitching, solid hardware, and a build that’s meant to age gracefully over years of wear.
