It takes inspiration from Thomas Kay, a skilled weaver from Sheffield, England, who journeyed to the Pacific Northwest in the 1860s. Settling in Oregon, he founded the Kay Woolen Mill-one of the largest in the West-and laid the foundation for what would become Pendleton Woolen Mills.
