Rock critic Lennart Persson summed it up like this: "Fiendens Musik från Lund could be called a punk band, as the group stepped onto the Swedish rock scene right at the moment when the English punk wave rolled in over it. [.] With lyrics full of irony and social criticism , social realism and Dylanian freaked out word frames and with an aggressive turn in the music, they became a much-loved live band around the Nordics. "
A kick right in the head is a time capsule that both reveals the political game when punk challenged the prog and depicts the extremely creative punk scene, not least in Malmö / Lund, where you did not wait to get everything served - you did it yourself. The book tells about the record stores and music venues that were the lifeblood of the young generation. It also tells about the cohesion and solidarity among the young Lund bands - TT Reuter, Garbochock, Fear, City Kent and many more.
The author and journalist Karl G Jönsson was one of many creative forces in Fiendens Musik. In the book, he tells about everything, from ecstatic Stockholm gigs to Mats Olsson's rage in Expressen and the progs' attack on a new music that aroused their anger.
The now well-known photographer Mats Bäcker formed the band as a nineteen-year-old together with Mats Zetterberg. The history of Fiendens Musik is illustrated by a number of his classic black and white rock photos.
