Transmitting from the underground Los Angeles, the dark melodies of THE DEEP EYNDE have over the years carved their way into the veins of the underground literally from the ground up.
For most who know the name and music, THE DEEP EYNDE have since served up the darkest tunes, establishing themselves as one of the top horror punk / deathrock bands in the United States, with intense ghoulish performances, often involving bloodletting and outfits made of live insects. But, beneath the surface of the theatrics was an underscore of aggressive music which had caught the ears of one of the most established punks in the U.S. Punk business, Duane Peters with his own record label, Disater Records.
It began when skateboard legend, Duane Peters, singer of the The Hunns/ U.S. Bombs had recently taken interest of THE DEEP EYNDE while putting together his annual compilation "Old Skars and Upstarts". Although the bands music was dark, Duane immediately noticed that it had a back bone that was definitely classic California punk. Within weeks, THE DEEP EYNDE had soon found themselves being directed by Duane to release a record with his label, Disaster Records (for Europe People Like U). Duane influenced the band to strip away the music, and expose once again their aggressive roots that had been since been given no attention. Singer of the band, Fatal expressed, "We were a little nervous at first, having such a change, so we started with two really old recordings we had which had with them a sound that was more raw, and worked the album around them.and when it was all done, we were pretty satisfied". The result of ´´Shadowland´´ is a post-punk sounding sing-along album totally inspired by the bands like The Damned, Bad Religion, Lords of the New Church, The Misfits, and Agent Orange. Since the release, the band has been moving swiftly into venues with every kind of band in the live circuit in the states. Recent tours across the United States has pushed the band into overload with popularity of playing venues, pairing them up with everyone from TSOL to The Generators.
From their raw beginnings of deathrock / horror punk, "Shadowland" reflects an aggressive influence of the underground scene in Southern California. Although faster, THE DEEP EYNDE nevertheless it still retains the dark undertones and mischief the band has always been known to have within their music.
