Carlos & The Bandidos - The Good, The Bad & The Bandidos - CD

[CD]

139.00SEK

Ettore “Johnny Loda” Chiavinato / Vocals, Guitar, Ukulele
Matteo “Generale Babbaiù” Rorato / Vocals, Bass
Severino “Tommy” Tomasella / Vocals, Drums

What you have in your hands at this moment is the new CD release from Carlos & The Bandidos - one of the UK's premier Rockabilly Bands. Well, Rock-A-Billy with a Mexican / Western slant. The band comprise of front man Carlos Mejuto on vocals, Malcolm Chapman on lead guitar (he's also played guitar in Paul Ansell's Number Nine), Neil Scott on double bass, Paul Maitland on rhythm guitar & backing vocals and Roger Van Niekirk on drums. The band have toured all over the UK, Europe and the western half of the US to critical acclaim.

The CD contains the usual eclectic bundle of self penned songs and unusual cover version of songs that has been a mainstay of their repetoire for the last 14 years. They include a vocal version of Misirlou - influenced more by the Cardinals than by Dick Dale; A thumping strolling version of "I'm Shakin'" by Little Willie John, a plaintive reading of "My Poor Old Heart" - a song by Alison Krauss and others by artists as diverse as Feliciano, Asleep At The Wheel and the Deep River Boys (their haunting version of "I Wish I Had Died In My Cradle"). It's taken almost 5 years of pestering to get the band back into the recording studio and it's well worth the wait.
