The duo SIMSOAK was born when Simon Laufer and Fredrik Söderström first met in 2004, Simon as a singer and Fredrik as a breakdancer. The music was there as a common factor and a natural cooperation started.
Simon, aka SIMS, with a background as a musicalartist, pianist and two-fold runner-up in swedish Kanal 5 tvshow Popstars, adds both innovative rhythms, melodies and texts to the duo. But first and foremost he distinguishes himself with his very characteristic voice and approach.
Fredrik, aka KAOS, is a breakdancer and has his roots in Hip-Hop culture. He gives Simsoak a feeling for rhythm and timing in the shape of beats and rap, inspired by many years of touring as a professional b-boy.
They have together created a totally unique sound, a crossover between everything from Jazz, Blues and Funk to modern Hip-Hop and RnB, but also Reagge and Ska-rhythms.
SIMSOAK's first album Live Och Direkt is the reward for all the hard work, all the long days and nights in the studio, all the bureaucracy and all frustration over how complicated everything can be at times.
10 tracks that explains the moods in the creating of music with all the highs and lows, ups and downs. An album which have grown up both in the studio and on stage. A mixture of programmed instruments and liverecordings, genres and styles. An experience both in the stereo and live on stage.
