Night club, vegas lounge, jazzy rhythm & blues. Rat pack style... swing baby.
With names like Scat,Shorty,Dino,Digits and Rock It's not suprising to discover that the Penthouse Playboys fancy themselves as ultra cool hipsters. Fortunately the dozen numbers on the disc "Casino Lounge" soundly support that image."Black Out"is a moody melody with slinky keyboards and a wailing trombone, while the tounge-in-cheek "Tony the Tuna" set to the melody "Santa Clause is comming to Town " is reminisent of an old "Mad magazine" send up.
On a whole the Cd is Swanky,Swingin' and Satisfying.
There music spans several decades of American culture, all magically Distilled into a unique Urban sound
The Penthouse Playboys influnces are those of the Vegas greats Like Bobby Darin,Nat King Cole and of course the "Rat Pack".This is an act that prides itself at crooning to a smoth one like nobodys buisness like nobodys buisness at the same time laying down a Jazzy groove of stopmin' Rhythm and Blues.
