The Rat Pack is gone... Thank heaven for the brand of jazzy R&B these boys play!
Their CDs "In the Bag" and "Casino Lounge" blend the night club sounds of Ladies of the Night, Drink it Dry and Piano Bar Blues, with out and out stompers like "Black Out, Jet Set and Out like a Rock."
The Penthouse Playboys influences are those of the Vegas greats like Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and of course the "Rat Pack. This is one act that prides itself at crooning to a smooth one like nobody's Biz. At the same time laying down a Jazzy groove of stomp'n Rhythm & Blues.
In The Bag sound like soundtrack music to a Rat Pack movie,or the really seedy stuff left off of the musical Guys and Dolls. The unnamed players and singer are smooth abd steamy with enough Tom waits circa Small Change to warrent repeat listening. Round of Manhattans on me Dadde-O.
