Punch, The

The Punch (aka The Persuaders) was formed in 2001 by Nick Anderberg and Mike Salonen. Nick and Mike were moulded by the Era of Punk and New Wave, but has always been inspired by rock and pop from the 60’s and fascinated with the beats of Jamaica and Africa. The aim was to try to find the mix of all these elements. This was when the Idea of the band was born.

After playing and touring in legendary skaband, The Skalatones, the two friends decided it was time to realize their musical goals. The Skalatones were disbanded in Spring 2001 and Nick and Mike immediately started to write songs for the new band with a focus on more guitar-based rock-pop-punk.

After a couple of years experimenting with different sounds and members the band changed name and The Punch was born. Now the band was joined by drummer Magnus Norberg (ex Teddybears Stockholm) and the very talented guitarist Mika Rantala.

The Punch live is a high-energy experience. With attitude and tightness the band delivers an intense rock & roll show. The band is at the moment promoting the release of the EP with gigs in Scandinavia and Europe. A fullength-CD on Heptown Records is also planned for release in early 2005.
